Mountain Life Music offers personalized music lessons and mentoring designed to help developing musicians move from learning the basics to creating, performing, and sharing their music.
Whether you want to learn guitar, play your first live gig, earn money performing, or begin producing your own music, Lance Swearengin helps you build a practical roadmap based on your skills, goals, and musical interests.
Take your next stepBuild a solid foundation and learn to actually play the music you enjoy. Guitar lessons focus on practical skills including chords, rhythm, strumming, song learning, basic music theory, playing by ear, and developing the confidence to play with and for others.
Starter to Stage is personalized mentoring for musicians who are ready to move beyond practicing at home and begin performing.
Students work with Lance to identify their goals and develop the skills needed to become confident, gig-ready musicians. Depending on the student, that may include building a setlist, improving performance skills, singing while playing, choosing and using live sound equipment, developing promotional materials, finding venues, booking gigs, and learning how to turn musical ability into paid opportunities.
The goal isn’t simply to become a better musician. It’s to help you become a working musician—one achievable step at a time.
Starter to Studio introduces musicians to the fundamentals of modern music recording and production.
Students learn the basic workflow of a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), including recording instruments and vocals, working with MIDI and virtual instruments, arranging songs, editing tracks, using effects, and creating a basic mix.
The goal is practical: develop enough knowledge and confidence to begin turning your own musical ideas into finished recordings.
You don’t have to know exactly where your music will take you. You just need to know your next step.
Mountain Life Music provides personalized instruction, mentoring, and practical experience to help musicians move from learning—to performing—to creating.
